WHITE WINES

2005 Chardonnay
Our 2005 Chardonnay has hints of tropical fruit on the nose. The palate is sustained by light oak and lemony flavours giving the wine a light, crisp finish. Enjoy!

2006 Chardonnay
Delicate figs and nutty/spicy hints on the nose follow through onto the palate with dry finish. Will accompany most fish and chicken dishes. Awarded Bronze medal at the Boutique Winemakers Show 2008

2007 Chardonnay
Produced from handpicked, premium Chardonnay grapes grown at Bay of Shoals, this wine is a superb combination of delicate fruit enhanced by a period of meticulously monitored maturation in French oak barrels to achieve a perfect balance. and. The aroma is a sophisticated and harmonious combination of lemon and tropical fruits complemented by fragrant and nutty notes derived from the selected French Oak barrels. On the palate, the primary citrus and tropical fruits flavours are soft and generous with a creamy texture. The wine finishes dry and clean. Perfect with Kangaroo Island free-range roasted chicken and haloumi cheese.

2006 Riesling
Citrus/lime aromas with mineral and floral hints are followed by mouthfilling citrus flavours on the palate with a crisp acid backbone. This wine will provide a good accompaniment to fish and delicately spiced chicken dishes. Awarded Bronze medal at the Australian Small Winemakers Show 2008

2007 Riesling
Like all great Rieslings this wine exhibits classic aromas of citrus/lemon with resonating floral overtones. On the palate the wine is light, lively and crisp on the finish. The flavours extend to citrus/grapefruit and floral/honeysuckle. Great with Kangaroo Island Whiting. Best served chilled, 8-10$deg;C ideal.

2007 Sauvignon Blanc
This wine shows varietal aromas of tropical/passionfruit with grassy hints. The palate is a mouthfilling combination of tropical fruits and zesty gooseberry driven by racy acidity. It finishes clean and fresh. Great with Kangaroo Island Oysters. Best serve chilled , 8-10°C ideal.

2008 Sauvignon Blanc
The fruit was picked late in February. The wine has a pale straw colour with green tints. An extremely aromatic wine with a lifted tropical and citrus nose. On the palate the wine displays; pineapple, peach and pear flavours with a creamy texture and herbaceous, citus peel finish. A good match with American River(KI)oysters, served chilled.

RED WINES

2004 Cabernet Sauvignon
Dark ruby red in colour showing black cherry, beetroot and leafy Cabernet fruit, backed by French oak nuances. Mouth filling tannins which are fine grained giving firm finish and showing good acid balance on the palate.

2005 Cabernet Sauvignon
Lifted ripe blueberry aromas are supported by cedary oak. This follows through onto a full-bodied, well structured palate with fine tannins. Ideal with grilled/roast beef and game.

2006 Cabernet Sauvignon
This wine is made entirely from Kangaroo Island fruit and shows deep vibrant colour, backed up by classic varietal characters in both the aroma and its flavoursome, well structured palate. Berry fruits and spicy oak dominate the aroma with an underlying tone of classic cabernet leafiness. The palate is generous in flavour with an abundance of red berry fruits drawn out by soft drying tannins that prolong the finish. The wine can be consumed now or alternately, reward those who are patient enough to cellar it for 5 to 10 years. Enjoy with delicious Kangaroo Island beef casserole or grilled Kangaroo Island Haloumi cheese. Awarded Bronze Medal at Australian Small Winemakers Show 2008

2007 Island Blend
To commemorate the first Bay of Shoals Wines vintage on Kangaroo Island this wine was produced from Shiraz(62%), Cabernet Sauvignon(23%) and Merlot(15%) from fruit sourced from local Kangaroo Island growers spanning from Cape Willoughby, Stokes Bay and Parndana areas. The wine has been aged in new American(85%)and French(15%)barrels for approximately 12 months. The colour is dark brick red with bright red hues.Lifted aromas of berries and spice,with some licorice notes. These aromas follow through onto the palate, resulting in a medium bodied wine displaying rich sour cherry,plum and mulberry flavours and velvety tannins. The oak induces some vanilla and spice. The finish is warming and has intense cracked black pepper. A good match with lically farmed; beef, lamb or even kangaroo.

2007 Rose
Produced from Shiraz grapes, the aroma of this wine is appealing with intense plum and spice hints. On the palate wild berries carry through to supple tannins and a persistent finish. This is a versatile wine, equally at home at BBQs and weddings. Serve chilled.

2006 Shiraz
Made entirely from fruit grown on the island, this Shiraz fulfils the promise of quality that is evident in the richness of its colour with a tempting and complex aroma that carries through to a smooth and flavoursome palate. The aroma is an alluring blend of plum and berry fruits that are complemented by spicy vanillin oak. These berry and spicy elements stimulate the taste buds and prepare them for a delectable encounter with soft, velvety tannins that extend the flavour by way of a long savoury finish. The wine is soft enough to drink now or to cellar for up to 8 years. This wine is a perfect match with delicious Kangaroo Island lamb.

2007 Sparkling Rose
Produced from Shiraz grapes, this wine has been created as a light and refreshing style suitable for any occasion. It exhibits intense aromas reminiscent of cherries and strawberries with a confectionery overtone. On the palate it is crisp, yet creamy with a persistent and pleasing red berry finish. Perfect as an aperitif.

2007 Vintage Fortified
It is a style that captures the richness of colour, aroma and flavour of Shiraz grapes that have been allowed to evolve to their full potential in late autumn sunshine. The colour is deep garnet with a vibrant purple edge. Its aroma evokes dried berry fruits with hints of plum and confectionary. Being a Vintage Fortified, this wine will develop and soften in the bottle for the next 20 years but, for those who cant wait that long, it is the perfect finish to any meal. A good match with Kangaroo Island cheeses.
